Zollie Spencer

Zollie Spencer, Jr., age 83, completed his final tour of duty on earth and went home to a perfectly chilled beer on September 5, 2026. True to form, he fought with everything he had at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming, proving right up until the end that he was as tough as they come.

Born on April 11, 1943, in Ola, Arkansas, Zollie set out to live life on his own terms. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965 aboard the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43), a grand adventure that kickstarted a lifetime of hands-on expertise. He brought his top-tier work ethic to the Caterpillar Tractor Company in San Leandro, California, the Westinghouse Marine Division in Sunnyvale, California, and finally wrapped up a stellar career by retiring from Auto Electric right here in Cheyenne.

Zollie dedicated himself to his true passions: trying to outsmart fish and enjoying a cold one. His family takes great comfort in knowing that where he is now, the waters are glassy, the fish are practically jumping into the boat, and the tap never runs dry.

He didn't make his final exit quietly; instead, he slipped away surrounded by a self-proclaimed "small army of love," being reminded exactly how much joy he brought to the world.

Zollie's legacy of hard work and good times is carried on by his son, Victor Spencer, and his wife, Jen Seipp Spencer; his grandchildren, Maria Arellano (and her husband, John Arellano) and Zollie R. Spencer (and his fiancé, Ryeleigh Brownson). He also leaves behind a crew he loved and claimed entirely as his own bonus grandkids: Tyler, Saphearya Brownson, Jonathan Romain, and Ally Melton-Ellering. Most of all, he leaves behind his favorite partner-in-crime and bestest friend, his great-granddaughter Hazel, who could make him light up like 4th of July every single time she walked into the room, as well as 2 Sister in-laws, 4 sisters & 4 brothers.

He is finally reunited for a long-overdue reunion with his beloved wife, Maria Spencer; his son, Zollie M. Spencer; and his parents, Zollie J. Spencer and Neoma Spencer and sister Nellie Spencer Shaddon.

Dad's viewing is on the 16th from noon till 4. His funeral is the 17th @ 10:00 am at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel Of The Chimes 1900 E 19th St
