Zelma Kay Looney (Sutton), born on August 16, 1947, in Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away on February 13, 2026, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her legacy is one of love, loyalty, and dedication to her family and community.

Kay was a devoted wife of a career military man, adapting to numerous relocations with grace and resilience as they moved throughout their lives. While she found work wherever they were stationed, her most cherished role was that of a homemaker, nurturing her family and creating a warm and welcoming environment for all.

Her loving and caring nature extended beyond her immediate family; she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, often indulging in lively bowling games that created joyful memories for everyone involved. A passionate gardener, Kay delighted in tending to her flowers, a hobby that further reflected her nurturing spirit.

Kay is survived by her husband, George Looney, and her children: sons Al (Sandra) Sutton and Don Sutton. She also cherished her grandsons Alex (Kym) Sutton, Zack (Michelle) Sutton, Chance (Emily) Sutton, and granddaughters Chelsea Sutton and Tiffany Sutton, as well as her great-grandchildren Damion, Grayson, Easton, Nick, Elias, Nevaeh, Reagan, and Paisley. These family bonds were a source of joy and pride for her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrance and Cora Potter (Bairn), first husband, James "Jay" Sutton, and her son Jamie Sutton.

A memorial service in honor of Kay will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes on February 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
