Listen to Obituary

William “Billy” Gordon Christensen, 74, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026. Billy was born on December 30, 1951, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Gordon and Marcella Christensen. Billy was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Christensen; his mother, Marcella Christensen; and brother Beryl Christensen He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jody Christensen; his brother, Bob Christensen (Mona); his children, Tricia Christensen, Billie Jo Baer (Jeremiah), Hillary Hardy (Shane) and Troy Hundley (Dana); his grandchildren, Ryder Christensen (Bree Hildebrandt), Zander Hardy (Sydney Taylor), Alyvia Hardy, Than Hardy, Jordyn Baer, Jasmyn Baer and Patrick Hundley; and his great-granddaughter, Xena Barnes. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews and many friends, whom he considered family. Billy was a proud retired Teamster truck driver who worked hard throughout his life and retired early to enjoy the rewards of that work. He loved fixing things and took great pride in teaching his grandchildren how to work with their hands, solve problems and cooking meals that became family favorites. Some of the family’s greatest memories were made at the lake, where Billy loved fishing and spending time on the water with those he loved most. He rarely missed an opportunity to travel and cheer on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. Billy also enjoyed taking gambling trips with his wife and could often be found playing poker online. He was stubborn, outspoken and always had an opinion, but beneath that tough exterior was a man with an enormous heart. His love for his family and friends was unwavering, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. In accordance with Billy’s wishes, no formal memorial services will be held. Family and friends will gather at a lake in Wyoming at a later date to celebrate his life in the place he loved most. Rest in peace, Boppa.
