Wayne Lemaster, 71, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away August 25th
after heroically fighting cancer until the very end.Wayne was born August 12th, 1955 at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Calvinand Virginia Lemaster. His younger years were spent on the family farm in Albin,Wyoming with siblings Patty, Jimmy, Larry and Donny, where precious memories and various adventures ensued! Wayne graduated from East High School in 1973. Upon graduation, Wayne worked at West Office Machines, until he joined the IBEW (International Brotherhood of ElectricalWorkers) Electrical Apprenticeship Program in 1977. It is here that he met the love of his life, Susie Dawson, and where she met her mountain man. Susie quickly became part of Wayne’s World and they married in 1984. Wayne and Susie accented one another beautifully, valuing their love and marriage.Their union was a partnership, with God at the center. They were unique in their bond,always laughed together and provided a secure love for one another that surpassed any life circumstance. This nurturing love was the perfect foundation for the making of a family, where Zach, Mila and Amber were joyfully raised throughout the years. Wayne was the root of his family as he provided a loving, committed and stead fast presence that not only inspired his family, but those around him. Wayne put his family first every single day and was an active participant in his wife and children’s lives. He was a gentle giant, always guiding, always teaching, always having fun and maintained an optimistic perspective.Wayne was passionate about planning activities for family and friends and loved being surrounded by their company. He loved the outdoors; camping, boating, hunting, fishing and golfing, and enjoyed being a Scout Leader for his son’s Boy Scout Troop 101 for many years. In 2002, Wayne went to work for Dyno Nobel as an Instrument and Electrical Technician, where he appreciated working with his colleagues and became an encouraging influence there until his retirement in 2020. Wayne put a smile on the face of any person within his orbit and made countless feel as though they were a part of hisbeloved family.Wayne leaves behind his loving family: wife, Susie; children and grandchildren: Zach and Diana, Sawyer and Isla Lemaster of Erie, Colorado; Josh and Mila, Henry, Russell and Charles Rogers of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Amber Lemaster of Cheyenne,Wyoming.Siblings: Patricia and Jim Valentine of Page, Arizona; Donald Lemaster of Greeley,Colorado; and sister-in-law Lorenna Lemaster of Clermont, Florida.Wayne is also survived by a large extended family who loved him dearly.Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Calvin J. and Virginia L. Lemaster; and brothers James A. Lemaster and Larry S. Lemaster.A Celebration of Life will be held September 20th, 2026 at 2pm at the Kiwanis Community House, 4603 Lions Park Drive, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001.
