Violet (Vi) Homan (98) of Cheyenne, issued her final breath December 25, 2025 surrounded by loving relatives at Davis Hospice. Born September 28, 1927 to Thomas J. Adams and Ada (Porter) Adams, she spent her entire life in Cheyenne. Vi was always an active child helping her father with chores.
During high school she was proud to be the sole night shift attendant at the neighborhood filling station. As a young woman she held various clerical positions. While her mother recovered from a near fatal traffic collision, the Cheyenne Police Department provided her proudest employment moment when it asked her to fill her mother’s Police Matron duties for about a year.
Vi worked for the Cheyenne field office of the Corp of Engineers acquiring land for Warren Air Force Base Strategic Air Command. When the Cheyenne field office closed upon completion of its task, she transferred to WAFB as job scheduler in the facilities maintenance and construction shops.
In her free time, she enjoyed keeping score at Little League games, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, bowling and dancing. She won bowling and polka awards at various venues from Nevada to Texas. Along the way she found a teammate and lifetime love in Dwayne Ford.
Preceding Vi in death were her parents, sister, Eleanor Cheney (Earl), nephew Larry Cheney, sister Evelyn Crosley (Chi), brother Charlie (Rose), Dwayne Ford, daughter Lora (Ford) Bhem.
Her surviving family includes son, Tom Homan (Carolyn); grandson Neal Homan (Rachel), their son and daughter Jack and Leslie; exceedingly special niece Billie Ann (Crosley) Diethrich (Paul), her daughter Kim Schlabs (Jerry) and their children Garet and Brady; nephew Charles Crosley (Sue) and their sons Scott Crosley and his children Caitlin, Chloe, Clay, and Shane Crosley (Holly) and his daughter Lauren.
