Timothy Burdette Wheaton fought The Good Fight and in the Lord’s grace, love, and wisdom was called to his heavenly home by his gracious Savior, Jesus Christ on April 27, 2026, at the age of 56.
Timothy was born on July 11, 1969, to Burdette and Margaret Ann (Ehlbeck) Wheaton in Mankato, MN. He was baptized as a redeemed child of God at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mankato, MN on August 11, 1969. He confirmed his faith in the same congregation in May of 1984.
Timothy completed his K-12 education at Immanuel Lutheran School in Mankato, MN graduating in 1988. He attended Mankato State University where he studied Geography for a year. He was then led by the Holy Spirit to enter the pastoral ministry and faithfully prepared for this calling by graduating from Immanuel Lutheran College and Seminary in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1996.

His pastoral ministry started as a vicar in Dallas, TX; followed by serving as the vacancy pastor in Markesan, WI; and then fulfilling full-time calls in Lemmon, SD; Lamar, CO; Blue Springs, MO; and Loveland, CO. While in Loveland, he served as vacancy pastor in Cheyenne, WY. After 28 years of devoted service, he retired to Cheyenne, WY.

He married Trudy Weber on November 10, 2001, in Lamar, CO. Tim adopted Trudy’s son, Ian Weber, in August 2002. They were blessed with a son Paul on September 20, 2002.

Timothy had a love and passion for Christian education and The Word. He served on several Boards of Education. He had a thirst for sharing God’s Word through Bible Studies and doing member visits. He also had a passion for finance and while preaching, continued his education by obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administrations in Accounting degree.
Timothy was preceded in death by his father Burdette Wheaton and his grandparents.
Timothy is survived by his wife Trudy (Weber) Wheaton, son Ian Wheaton of Cheyenne, WY; son Paul Wheaton of Loveland, CO; mother Margaret Ann Wheaton of Minnesota; brother Michael and his wife Ann Wheaton; niece Andrea (Hunter) Hanel and great niece Sophia; nieces Mara and Michaela Wheaton of Minnesota; sister Julie and her husband Matthew Busch; nieces Kayla (Logan) Wendt, Emma, Grace and Rebekah Busch of Minnesota.
