Thomas Charles Wilson, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, WY, after over ten years with eosinophilic leukemia. Tom was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Helen (Miller) and William T. Wilson. 

As a senior in high school in Rapid City, he was a member of a debate team that won not only the South Dakota state forensic championship but also the national championship. Tom graduated from Occidental College and the University of Wyoming Law School. After working for a few years as a private attorney, he was elected County Attorney in Sheridan County, Wyoming, for two four-year terms. He worked briefly as a public defender before being appointed to the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, where he served until his retirement.

Tom had a great sense of humor and enjoyed hunting, fishing, backpacking, and watching sports.

Tom is survived by his five children: daughter Alisa Wilson of Denver, Colorado; sons William and Michael Schimel of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter Hope Richards and son David Wilson of Bellingham, Washington; and seven grandchildren. Tom is also survived by his sister, Carol Orr of Big Horn, Wyoming, and his brother, William Wilson of Missoula, Montana.
