Thomas Windell Winslow, 40, passed away on July 8, 2025, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. He left this world with extraordinary courage, grace, and even a sense of humor, surrounded by love and peace.
Born on May 11,1985 in Burlington, Colorado, Tommy lived a life defined by kindness, curiosity, and a deep commitment to the people he loved. Whether it was through growing up in Colorado and Wyoming, the Navy, the L.U. 415, community involvement, or simply being a loyal friend, Tommy left an undeniable impact on those lucky enough to know him and his sense of humor.
He had a talent for being silly, making people laugh, telling great stories, finding the silver lining, and being there when needed. Even in his final chapter, he found ways to bring light, perspective, and connection to those around them. There was always room for humor — even when things were hard — and Tommy faced the end of life not with fear, but with clarity, love, and often (but not always) a well-timed joke.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Pinckard, stepfather, Davern Pinckard, sister, Rosalie Claypool, niece, Natalia, nephew, Reyly, and various aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Rodney Winslow, his grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday July 12, 2025, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, 1900 E. 19th St., followed by a celebration of Thomas’s life at The Gathering Place, 1900 E 21st St., where friends and family are invited to share memories, tears, laughter, and maybe a favorite dessert in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a military organization, such as DAV Disabled American Veterans, or that you take a moment to do something kind for someone else or make them laugh when they need it as Tommy would have.
Above all, Tommy asked to be remembered not by the length of his life, but by the heart with which he lived it. And one last word from Tommy, “I lived, I loved, I died”.
