Thomas Joseph Hackl, born on July 6, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on January 2, 2025. He was surrounded by love, with his devoted daughter Amanda by his side.
Thomas had a commendable career that began as a dispatcher for the Wyoming Highway Patrol. His dedication and commitment to service led him to a position as a Deputy at the Laramie County Sheriff's Department. He also served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force, reflecting his strong sense of duty.
He attended Southern Illinois University, where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to hard work and loyalty. Those who knew him would describe him as a great dad, always ready to lend a helping hand and support those around him.
Thomas is survived by his loving daughter Amanda; former spouse, Sylvia Hackl; along with extended family and many friends who will deeply miss him. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Hackl, and his mother, Laverne (Fitzhenry).
A graveside service to honor Thomas will be held on July 7, 2025, at Cheyenne National Cemetery, starting at 10:00 AM. It will be a time for family and friends to come together and honor his life. Thomas Hackl will fondly be remembered for his warmth, dedication, and the lasting impact he made in the lives of many.
