Listen to Obituary

Terry Allan Beitel, 67, sometimes known as Ter Ter, Papa Terry, or Gpa by his loved ones, passed away peacefully at Davis Hospice Center on October 16, 2026, after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.

Terry was born on April 19, 1959, in Riverton, Wyoming, where he spent most of his childhood. He also lived in Kansas and Missouri before his family settled in Rock Springs, Wyoming, when he was in junior high. He later graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1977. At 18 years old, Terry chose an adventurous life and began driving trucks to provide for his family. He took a break from trucking to work for the Border Patrol until he decided he was outmanned and outgunned.

Terry is survived by his three sons, Josh, TJ, and Trevor; his four grandchildren, Hayden, Hadley, Zacheriah, and Bentley; his partner of 16 years, Carolyn Moore; his three brothers, Ronnie, Gary, and Dannie; and a host of nieces and nephews who enriched his life with love and laughter.

Terry was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Janice; his mother, Evelyn Mae; his father, Warren; his brother, Randie Beitel; and his four-legged best friend, Copper.

Terry was an avid sports fan, and during football season, you could find him rooting for his favorite team, the New England Patriots. However, he would also graciously watch the Broncos and Bills. He loved attending Colorado Rockies games, but his heart truly belonged to the New York Mets. His love of baseball ran so deep that he coached his son's Little League team, and he had a special talent as a southpaw pitcher. Terry also attended as many hockey games as he could with his sons and grandchildren.

Terry's love of adventure made even the longest, most boring car rides fun. His adventures ranged from driving through bear country with a trailer full of meat to picking fresh pomegranates in El Paso to bringing five children to Sturgis by himself. He captured every moment on camera, and although he took thousands of pictures, Terry would much rather be the guy behind the camera than in front of it.

Terry embraced life with his humor, quick wit, and unmatched talent for telling dad jokes that would leave everyone in the room either laughing or groaning. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses and CNAs at Davis Hospice Center for their compassionate care during Terry's final days. They would also like to thank the dedicated professionals at The Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, who provided exceptional support throughout his journey.

Terry is being cremated, as was his wish. A small memorial service will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky for his friends and family in the Cheyenne area. A celebration of life will also be held at The Elks in Riverton, Wyoming, during the summer.
