Stephen “Steve” Allen Lee passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on August 2, 1950, Steve will be remembered as an intelligent and humorous man whose steady presence, wit, and deep interests left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.

Steve built a distinguished career as Manager of Steam Operating Practices for the Union Pacific Railroad. He took great pride in his work, and one of his proudest accomplishments was running a tight ship in the steam program. Trains were not only part of his profession, but also one of the interests he genuinely enjoyed throughout his life. He was also an avid reader, always drawn to learning and to the quiet pleasure of a good book.

Beyond his work, Steve was known for the personal joys that shaped his life and relationships. He enjoyed fishing, even if he seldom caught any fish. He also enjoyed cooking, and family will remember that the first meal he cooked for Karen was chicken and artichoke hearts. It was one of many expressions of care over the years they built together. Steve and Karen were married on December 17, 1977, and were just shy of celebrating 50 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Lee, and his children, Stephanie Lamb, Jen Lee, and Dan Lee. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Lee, and Gary’s wife, Kathy, along with their sons, Chris and Stephen, and their families. Steve is further survived by Granddaughters Kirra and Kaelynn, whose place in the family brought him pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by Deward Lee and Anna Nell Lee, as well as his uncle, Bobby Lee.

Steve will be remembered for his sharp mind, his humor, his love of trains and reading, and the many everyday moments that made him so dearly loved. His memory will remain a blessing to his family and friends, who will carry him with them always.
