Ruthmary Frances (Holmes) Trowbridge, 99, formerly of Cheyenne, WY, passed away peacefully in Torrington, WY. She was born March 7, 1926, in North Platte, NE and lived in Cheyenne for 95 years.
Ruthmary graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1944. Her mother, Mabel Rogers was married to C.J. Doc Rogers, who served as Governor, Secretary of State, and Treasurer for the State of Wyoming. Ruthmary met her husband, Richard, while working at the State Liquor Commission, and they married in 1952. She and Richard were active in serving the Cheyenne community, including volunteering with the American Legion and various food banks. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting with friends and making new friends at Goshen Healthcare Community. Ruthmary loved to memorize poems, spell words verbally in conversation, and sing songs and ditties from her early life. She also had a life-long crush on Dean Martin.
Ruthmary was preceded in death by her husband Richard; her parents; a son-in-law and two grandchildren. She is survived by four daughters and one son; step-daughter Patsy Lundberg (Dennis) of Las Vegas, NV; Susan Tobin (Bill deceased) of Vashon, WA; Margaret Beveridge (Steve) of Franktown, CO; Melissa Meeboer (Michael) of Torrington, WY; and step-son Mike Gallion (Barbara) of OH. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
