Rose Marie Perman was born to Nels (a Danish immigrant) and Alice (Hausle) Rasmussen on February 4, 1934, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She and her younger brother Neal were partly raised on the family farm in Rochford, SD until she was seven. For one week, she attended the same one-room schoolhouse in Rochford that her mother had, before they moved to southern California to make their home, where her father had secured work.

Rose Marie attended elementary, junior high and high school in the Los Angeles suburb of Highland Park. During school, she loved choir, science and math classes. After graduation, she worked for the Bell Telephone Company as an information operator and worked as a switchboard operator at a local hospital. She attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and through mutual friends, she met Harry Perman, an upholsterer, who had relocated from Billings, Montana. After a yearlong courtship, they were married September 26, 1953, and lived in Highland Park.

A little over two years later, she gave birth to their first child, Glen. Two years later came Lori, then Anita nineteen months after that, and finally Gary two years later. After Anita was born, they purchased a home in Pasadena. When she was 31, her only brother died suddenly from a brain aneurysm in his sleep.

Rose Marie was a stay-at-home Mom, raising four children, and helping Harry with his night school studies and typing minutes from Spokesman Club meetings. They began attending Worldwide Church of God in 1963. When she was 35, Harry died suddenly, leaving her with children ages 8 -13.

She cleaned houses and worked for the church and always tended a huge vegetable garden in the backyard. She helped other widows and single women who needed food, rides or help moving. She lived a life of service to others in the church in southern California. When she was 40, after several years taking care of her ailing mother in addition to raising 4 teenagers, her mother passed away from cancer.

A year later, in November of 1975, she moved to Jackson, in northern California, so Glen could open an upholstery shop there. She took care of a disabled woman for several years and later ran a sewing shop on her property. She learned to quilt and made many beautiful quilts, some of which she sold in local shops. She also took up tole painting and painted beautiful scenes on wood and canvas.

She joined a quilting group, a prayer group, and a Bible Study group, and kept busy taking in sewing and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She visited the grandchildren often, and saw all of them graduate from high school and several of them

from college. She attended all of their weddings and those were proud moments for her.

She was a fabulous cook and cooked for many church and family occasions. She hosted Thanksgivings at her home into her early 7O's. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was always there to help with preparations and cooking for their graduation parties. She sewed clothes for all of her grandchildren and helped sew dresses for their weddings.

In her later years, she moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to stay with her oldest daughter. There she was able to see her great-grandchildren often and enjoyed when they would come visit or sing for her. She enjoyed sitting out on the porch, overlooking the city at night, watching the planes take off and land.

She will be remembered for her many talents, her fierce dedication to her Lord and Savior, her knowledge of scripture, and her love for her family. She attended Worldwide Church of God for 50 years, where she served in many capacities, and later attended Central Baptist Church near her home in Aurora.
