Ronald E Bathrick passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Ronald (Ron) Bathrick of Flowery Branch, GA and formerly of Leesburg, FL and Cheyenne, WY was 92 years young. Ron was born on the family farm in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Francis “Emory” and Elizabeth Bathrick on September 25, 1933. After losing his father, the family moved to Evart, Michigan, where he spent the remainder of his childhood. Ron served in the United States Air Force from 1953 – 1957 followed by a career at IBM for 25 years (1957 – 1982). He met and ultimately married the love of his life, Margaret (Peggy) Gheen in 1961. The two of them welcomed 3 children over the years and the family lived in Duluth Minnesota, Washington DC, and Cheyenne WY while Ron was working for IBM. After Peg passed away in 2004, Ron reunited with his high school sweetheart, Rita Bowersox.
Ron was a devout catholic who found home in the church. He regularly attended Mass and treasured life-long friendships formed across the pews. He prioritized time with family, friends and nature; often spending time at the family cabin in the mountains snowmobiling, hunting, hiking, and fishing. Ron also loved a good boy’s trip with Ronnie and brother-in-law, Steve, who would fly his floatplane to remote locations in Canada for camping, fishing, and lots of storytelling! If he was not at the church, in nature, or by his family’s side, you could likely find Ron in the garage, working on the antique cars he collected to refurbish.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Francis “Emory” and Elizabeth; his wife, Peggy; his son, Ronnie; his second wife, Rita Bowersox; sisters, Adeline and Wanda Sebring (Fay); brother, Robert (Milly); sister-in-law, Pat Atol; brother-in-law, Steve Gheen; and nephew, Tommy Atol. Ron is survived by his two daughters, Ann Heath (AJ Myers) and Beth Conley; his stepdaughter, Cari Simons; seven grandchildren & step-grandchildren, Hayden Conley (Ashley), Hailey Heath, Samantha Conley (Austin), Alexa Heath, Braidon Myers (Heather), Camdon Myers, Havyn Myers; four great grandchildren, Isla Conley, Auggie Conley, Charlie Myers, and Finn Myers; numerous nieces & nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Ron will be laid to rest at a later date in Cheyenne, Wyoming next to his beloved wife and son.
