Listen to Obituary

Rick Norval Flury passed away on July 26, 2026, in Cheyenne, Wyoming from complications relating to melanoma. Born in Rochester, MN on February 21, 1949, Rick was the son of Norval (Bike) and Lillian Flury.

Rick graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, MN in 1967. He worked and lived in Rochester, MN and Minneapolis, MN before moving to Cheyenne, WY. There, he served in the United States Air Force at the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base from June 1975 until being honorably discharged from his rank as Sergeant in June 1979. Excluding a brief stint working at his brother Rock’s Painter’s Plus business in Holmen, WI, Rick was a vital employee at Action Automotive for over 30 years.

Rick is survived by his sisters Sharon (Larry) Schultz of Red Wing, MN, Brenda (Rich) Greig of Chanhassen, MN, and Becky (Brian) Szyszka of Jordan, MN, many nieces and nephews, and best friends Hank, Dee, and Josh. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Norval (Bike) and Lillian Flury, sisters Susan Krieger and Betty Hagaman, brothers Randy Flury and Rock Flury, Grandmother Ada Slawson, grandparents and Ernest and Hattie Flury.

Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing with his best friend, Hank, participating in events at the shooting range, and working in his shop fixing anything with an engine. Although he was a quiet man, Rick was generous with his time and talents. He could repair almost anything and spent countless hours helping others by doing so. He will be deeply missed by both family and friends.

Rick’s memory and service to his country will be recognized at a military honor’s placement ceremony at 10:00 AM on August 13, 2026 at Cheyenne National Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Please check OttoRoadShootingRange.com for updates and plans as they are finalized.
