Rex Wilde, 69, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on Monday, October 20th, 2025. Rex was
born on October 16, 1956, at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas. He was the son of Norman and Mary Wilde, both of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Rex grew up in Vacaville, California, where he graduated from high school. In 1976,he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Italy and North Carolina. He saw the world, made lifelong friends, and collected enough stories to keep any campfire burning late into the night. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he returned to Cheyenne, where he made his home and worked for Schroll Cabinets for many years. Rex loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Zucca. Known for his fun spirit and deep love of music—especially rock ’n’ roll—Rex brought energy and laughter wherever he went. He is survived by his mother, Mary Wilde; brother, Glenn Wilde; children,Bianca Wilde, and Camryn Wilde; and three grandchildren, all of Cheyenne, Wyoming.He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Wilde, and his son, Hans Wilde.Per Rex’s wishes, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 1st, at noon, at AMVETS, 1820 Ridge Rd., Cheyenne, WY82001.
