Rene is survived by her mother Julia Gonzales Tafoya; sons Benjamin Armijo, Jr. and Orlando Gonzales; daughter Terra Armijo; brothers Dwayne and John Gonzales; sister Shawna Stenhjem; grandsons Benjamin Armijo III, Damian, Dominic, and Marcus Gonzales and Fabian Valles; granddaughters Genesis, Dina, and Estrella Armijo, and Aaliyah Valles.

Rene was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Gonzales; brother Gabriel McGehee, and daughter Vanessa Armijo.
