Paula J. Stevens, a woman of unwavering love and commitment, passed away peacefully at her home in Carpenter, Wyoming, on August 15, 2025, at the age of 85. Surrounded by her loving family during her final moments, Paula's departure marks the end of a remarkable journey that began on May 27, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Throughout her life, Paula dedicated herself to serving others, a testament to her generous spirit. Her career in Voluntary Service with Veterans Affairs allowed her to extend her compassion and help to those who had bravely served the nation. It was a calling that deeply resonated with her nurturing nature, allowing her to touch the lives of many. Paula herself served in both the Navy and the Army, serving her country proudly.
Paula was a devoted mother to her son, Daren, and a beloved mother-in-law to Teresa, always proud of their achievements and the love they shared as a family. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandsons, Christian and Brandon, who were the light of her life. As a grandmother, she was the epitome of warmth and kindness, infusing their lives with stories, laughter, and cherished memories.
Her heart was always open, as she embraced both family and friends with an affectionate spirit. Paula was known for being the best mom Daren could ask for—always ready to lend a helping hand, she found happiness in serving others and being there for the people she loved. Her loving and giving nature has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In her pursuit of sports, Paula found adventure in the Golden Age Games, participating for many years with a spirited enthusiasm that showcased her vivacious and lively character. She faced each challenge with grace and determination, inspiring those around her to embrace life fully.
Paula is preceded in death by her father, Robert Gagnon, her mother, Augustine Boudreau, and her sister, Patricia Gagnon. Their legacies live on through the love that Paula infused in her family and friends.
A graveside service to honor Paula's life will be held on September 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Cheyenne National Cemetery, followed by a gathering at The Gathering Place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, both located in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
