Pamela E. Pallak
1948–2025
Pamela Elizabeth Pallak, 76, of Cheyenne, died January 19, 2025, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Born on September 17, 1948, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, to Leonard Luce and Ruthmary (Bunert) Dobie, she graduated from East Detroit High School in 1966, Laramie County Community College in 1981 and the University of Wyoming in 1983.
She married Jeffery Edward Pallak on July 20, 1980, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
In the 1980s, Pam was the director of the Wyoming/Montana Safety Council. A member of Grace United Methodist Church, she was a Methodist lay pastor and founder of Amend, a nonprofit that raised money to support home heating for families on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
An avid reader, Pam loved cooking and crafting. She organized “Scrappy Crafters,” a group who regularly met for crafting activities in the community. Through Scrappy Crafters, Pam made thousands of greeting cards throughout the years, which she then sold through craft fairs in Southeast Wyoming. Proceeds from the sales helped fund Amend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Ronald Dobie and Thomas L. Dobie; a sister, Ruthmary Wilson; a daughter, Heather Pamela O’Brien, and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by three sons, Noah Eugene (Geneva) O’Brien, Joshua Leonard (Nikole) O’Brien, and Jeffery Allen (Lori) Pallak, all of Cheyenne; a sister, Barbara Jean Dobie, of Cheyenne; 14 grandchildren, Katie Lynn O’Brien, of Riverton, Wyo.; Ashleigh Sue O’Brien, Erin Grace O’Brien, Ethan David (Emily) Hobbs, and Kiara Sky Kaiser, Grace-Elizabeth Ruthmary Owen, all of Cheyenne; Elise Vonn (Mike) Cole, of Powell, Wyoming; Dalton Andrew Greaham, of Austin, Texas; Stephanie Marie (Greyson) Brain, of Cheyenne; Elizabeth June O’Brien and Maggie JoLynn O’Brien, both of Cheyenne; Kaden Sean Baird, Shane Nicholas Baird, and Evie Elise Pallak, all of Cheyenne); and six great-grandchildren.
Those who prefer may contribute in her honor to Laramie County Community College Foundation’s Human and Public Services Pathway Endowment. Pam was a first-generation student, who worked multiple jobs while supporting four children and attending LCCC.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Pam’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Grace United Methodist Church, 2950 Spruce Drive, in Cheyenne. A reception will follow at the church.
