Nora Lynn Lyon (Allan)

Nora Lynn Lyon passes away July 14, 2025 at Davis Hospice with her dautgher Audrey holding her hand.

Nora was born April 19, 1950 in Cody, Wyoming to Jack and Margaret "Peggy" Allan. She graduated from Cody High School in 1968, moving on to Northwest Community College in Powell, then on to Wyoming University, graduating in 1972, with a degree in high school English, maintaining her credentials until 1994.

Nora joined the WYDOT family February 5, 1980 working in various departments, until she found her calling in 1992 when she was eased into the DBE Program and through the evolution of it growth until her retirement April 30, 2010, winning several prestigious awards along the way.

She was a member of the Cheyenne Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Allan, mother Peggy, and her brother Jay. She is survived by her husband, Gary, brother William (Helen) Allan, sister Melissa Scholefield, daugher Amber Elliott, daughter Audrey (Shay) Elliott, stepdaughter Michelle (Shaun) Kneher, stepson Michael Lyon, and 7 grandchildren.

An informal Celebration of Life is planned for August 31, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church from 1:30 to 4:00pm.
