Nona Kay Winter

October 22, 1964 — July 12, 2025

Pine Bluffs, Wyoming

Listen to Obituary

Nona Kay Winter, age 60, of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, passed away at her home on July 12, 2025. She was born on October 22, 1964, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Charles “Chuck” Harry Winter and Diane Pelagia Winter.

Nona was a proud graduate of Pine Bluffs High School, Class of 1983, where she was an accomplished athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track. She earned All-State and All-Conference honors and was known for her competitive spirit and team leadership.

A hard worker with a sharp wit and a generous heart, Nona worked at the local NAPA store before spending over 25 years as a body shop manager. She often said she wasn’t a “bodyman,” but a “bodywoman,” because she knew her way around a car and could fix anything. In her final year, she found joy in farming.

She was known for her warmth, her quick sense of humor, and her ability to turn strangers into friends. Nona had a deep love for the outdoors and spent her time with horses, at the lake, enjoying BBQs, shooting with her son, and being surrounded by friends and family. She especially cherished time with her grandsons, Christian and Marshall, doing yard work together and playing with tractors — moments that brought her joy and pride.

Nona was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Pelagia Winter; her father, Chuck Winter; her brother, Bryan Winter; and her sister, Amy Winter.

She is survived by her loving son Torey (Alisha) Floy; grandsons Christian and Marshall Floy; mothers Diane Winter and Carolyn (David) Winter-Skipper; sister Lindsey Winter; sister-in-law Tina Winter; nephews Brandon (Kasi) Winter, Bryce (Vivian) Winter, and Logan (Amy) Winter; grand-nephew Ryder Winter; nieces Tia (Dalton) Clark and Shannon Henry; grand-niece Qwincee Clark; her faithful companions, Remington and Solace; and countless friends who were like family.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pine Bluffs Community Center. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Pine Bluffs Cemetery. A reception will be held at the community center following the interment.

Nona’s life was a true testament to kindness, strength, and connection. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

“Always tell someone you love them because you never know if you’ll see or talk to them again.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Black Dog Animal Rescue in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in Nona’s memory.
