Misty Hargraves, beloved wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend, passed peacefully surrounded by family and her best friend. She was born in Nebraska, where she spent her early years before moving to Cheyenne at age 12. It was there that she built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith.

On January 13, 1995, Misty married her soulmate, James. Together they built a life grounded in love and laughter, each calling the other “my life, my everything.” Her first born, Riley was born in fall of 1997 followed by Kaelin in 1999. Misty worked as a pharmacy technician for many years in the family business and later as a receptionist in a local veteniary clinic where she grew her passion for animals and rescues. She would later say that her greatest and most cherished “job” was being a mother and a Mimi.

“I love my family-my husband and our girls are the best thing God has ever given me.”

To her daughters, Riley and Kaelin, Misty was the heart of the family—steady, loving, and endlessly proud. “If I ever forget to tell you,” she once wrote, “always remember that being your mom has been the most beautiful part of my story. You are the piece of my heart I never knew was missing until I held you. Loving you, raising you, and walking through life with you has been my greatest joy, and nothing will ever compare to the gift of being your mother.”

As “Mimi,” she shined even brighter-devoted, playful, and full of sparkle. To her granddaughter Laney Ann, she was “the sunshine in my life with a lot of sparkle,” and she eagerly awaited the arrival of her newest granddaughter, Briar Rose.

Misty’s spirit was as gentle and timeless as the white roses she loved. These flowers, symbolizing purity, grace, and eternal love, beautifully reflect her life-a life of elegance, compassion, and faith. The white rose’s message of renewal and everlasting love mirrors Misty’s enduring presence in the hearts of those who loved her.

As a sister, she was loving, fun, supportive and stived to keep connections between us. She will be missed but never be truly gone. “There are no goodbyes, as you will always be in our hearts; until we meet again, Misty.”

As a friend, she was loyal and kind—always the first to reach out to someone in need, the steady light in difficult times. Misty lived by the words, “A heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.” Her faith guided her through life and continues to inspire those she leaves behind.

If Misty could leave us with one message, it would be this: “Be the reason why people believe in beautiful souls, kind hearts, and good energy. Never stop being a good person.”

Misty is survived by her loving husband James; daughters Riley and Kaelin (Isaac); brother JJ (Margo); sister Tami (Robert); granddaughters Laney Ann and soon-to-arrive Briar Rose; nephews Roman and Trey; nieces Kelsey and Hailey; and grand-nieces Sadie and Emma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sheri, Ken, and Bill.

Her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Shiner’s Hospital https://donate.shrinerschildrens.org/campaign.
