Miguel "Meaklo" Angel Araujo

October 30, 2002 — February 6, 2023

Miguel Angel Araujo, a self-proclaimed choreographer, comical prankster, and bold legend unexpectedly gained his wings on February 6, 2023 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Born on October 30, 2002, Meaklo was a blessing to his family and would eventually impact thousands, burning his imprint into the minds of many. Though he had nearly a dozen siblings, he was undeniably the heart of his family and was favored by them all.

Meaklo had a soul like none other - he didn’t have to ask permission, but instead, knew that his piercing ocean-blue eyes could capture any heart for forgiveness, which was to his advantage. Meaklo loved more than anything to spread joy to the world and would do just about anything to make others smile. In his adolescent years, he made the mistake of creating a video of himself in a baggy shirt with his oversized hat on dancing to a song some may know as the “Whip/Nae-Nae”. He moved stiffly with a serious face and was not keeping up with the song’s momentum. From that point forward, his family begged to see him dance at any given chance and would often say “we aren’t laughing at you, we’re laughing because of you”. To gain redemption, Meaklo spent countless hours in his room studying to learn trendy dance moves. He would then invite his siblings to participate in the collaboration of new routines and would laugh at them for their goofiness as they attempted moves that he had spent so much time perfecting. Eventually, his efforts became less of a “told-you-so” and more of a natural, unplanned vibe. Whether he was blasting music during quick car rides, enlightening the outside world with trap music as it blared through his hand-held speaker, or initiating live concerts in any given living room, Meaklo was never without music. It didn’t matter the genre, the song, or the crowd - he had all the hits.

Regardless of the many difficult obstacles he faced in his life, Meaklo wore a smile that was contagious, laughed from the pits of his tummy, and danced like no one was watching. He was the “no” in “no chill”, the “up” in turn up, and required his sisters to implement the neighborhood noise ordinances the moment he walked through their doors (his brothers would always participate in the disruptions). Most would be frightened by a shaking floor, a loud crash, or the sound of decorations or dishes breaking, but when Meaklo was around, his family was never surprised by his chaos - he was either dancing excessively, tackling a sibling, wrestling with his nieces or nephews, or running through the house from someone he pranked. His presence was bold, his voice was distinct, his laugh was infectious, and his ideas were wild beyond imagination - the perfect recipe for a good time.

Miguel leaves behind his mother, Leslie Reddell; his father, Miguel Araujo; his sisters: Kristine Reddell and Cassadie Randolph (Justice); his many brothers: Joshua Reddell (Chyna), Kendrick Reddell (Miranda), Molique Randolph, Jordan Reddell (Shay), Addrian Araujo (Nataleigh), Alexander Araujo, and Diego Bustos; his grandfather, Karl Reddell; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles; and many others of whom he loved as if they were his own blood. He is preceded in death by his sister, Maria Araujo, his niece Jayla Randolph, and others he loved fiercely who welcomed him as he walked through the gates of Heaven.

Miguel lived by loyalty and was true to those around him. Miguel was and will forever be an angel - gone, but NEVER forgotten. As we cherish the gift of Miguel’s memory, let us pray: Lord, thank you for the gift of Miguel’s life, his heart, and his soul. Thank you for blessing us with such a special person who protected, loved, and cared for us all. Thank you for the endless memories of Miguel, and for the things we learned from his life and his love. Bless our brother, uncle, friend, and son with the abundance of your love and warmth. Cover him with your grace, and let him feel your tenderness. Let him know your mercy sets his spirit free, and let him spread his wings. Open up the heavens to him, and bring him joy and peace. Lord, we ask you to bless those that loved Meaklo, that we may always remember your promise of eternal life. May we breathe as if we are breathing for him. Through this wretched heartache, give us the strength and security to live our lives to the fullest as he did and as he would want us to. Allow us to always keep his spirit alive in the highest light. We pray for tranquility and comfort during this time and ask that Miguel is guided by your hand as he dances with his fellow angels to the joyful songs of Heaven. In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray - Amen.
