Born August 20, 1948 in Cheyenne, WY to Solomon and Wanda Foss, became a brother to big sister Gaela and a lover of the high plains and open spaces of both earth and sky.
He died recently at home in the month of May.
He attended public schools in Cheyenne, graduating from Cheyenne Central High School. He enjoyed being 1st chair violin in the orchestra, playing sports, and working at a ranch in the summer helping with the haying and exploring the night skies with his telescope. He loved his dogs, his horse Chica, riding his Harley, and camping in his camper trailer.
Upon graduation he matriculated at the University of Wyoming as a petroleum engineering student, he realized his heart wasn’t in that field. He preferred being in the open air, and he hired on as a worker on the Union Pacific Railroad and worked there until retirement as a switchman.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Patricia and survived by a son, David and his sister Gaela and husband Al Young of Cheyene, and nephew Kristian Young, Denver, and Anna Young, Fort Lauderdale.
Anyone wishing to, please remember him with a gift to ASPCA, Native American Rights Fund, or Greenpeace.
A private memorial service is planned for later this summer.
