Mary Jane Sundin

Mary Jane Stephens Sundin was born on August 13, 1929, in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, to Clyde and Lucy Viola (Garber) Stephens. She passed away on March 17, 2026, at the age of 97.

Mary graduated from Pine Bluffs High School in 1947 and went on to attend the University of Wyoming, where she met the love of her life, Robert E. Sundin. They were married on June 10, 1949, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where they shared 65 years of devoted marriage.

First and foremost in Mary’s life was her love for God. Seeking Him through prayer and Bible study brought her great joy and was the foundation of her life.

Mary cherished her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She often spoke with gratitude for the many blessings God bestowed upon her family. One of her favorite weekly activities for many years was participating in the Roland Organ Club at Niemann and Son’s Music Store. She also dedicated nearly 20 years of service as a tax consultant with H&R Block.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Sundin; her parents; her brothers, Charles and Neil Stephens; and her granddaughter, Danette Sundin.

She is survived by her sons, David (Robin), John (Sherrie), and Duane; her granddaughters, Davonne Sundin Souza (Andy), Denise Sundin Fertig (Shannon), and Chelsea Sundin; and her great-grandchildren, Zach and Zane Souza, and Sheridan, Stockton, and Sterling Fertig.
