Listen to Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Mary Ann Herrera, who peacefully departed this life on March 31, 2025, at the age of 80. Mary Ann was a cherished mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose warmth touched many lives.

Mary Ann was the heart and soul of our family. She was a woman of remarkable strength, grace, and unwavering love. She faced life with courage, carried herself with dignity, and gave her love freely to all who knew her. Her spark for life was undeniable, and she never passed up a chance to dance, bringing joy and rhythm wherever she went.

She is survived by her loving children, Miguel (Denise), Ursula (Daniel) Abeyta, and Tiffany (Jonathan) Martinez; as well as her adoring grandchildren, Daniel, LaRae, Lawrence, TaVae, Carolina, Noah, Ilyanna, and Olivia, many great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild- all of whom brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her sisters, Sylvia Garcia of Cheyenne, Teresa Ballard, Rosie Martinez, Paula Ramos, and Christine Martinez of Colorado Springs, and Angie Brossard of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Jennie Martinez; her brother, Eddie Martinez; and grandsons, Dominic and Michael Abeyta.

Mary Ann’s legacy lives on in the laughter of her family, the stories we’ll continue to share, and every beat of music that makes us want to get up and dance. Though her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed by knowing her.

A rosary vigil will be held on April 13, 2025, at 2pm at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Funeral liturgy will be held on April 14, 2025, at 2pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

The family would like to thank the staff at LifeCare Center of Cheyenne for their care and support during her final days.
