Marc A. Woods

Marc Anthony Woods, 53, of Cheyenne was surrounded by his family as he went home to be with Jesus on May 24, 2025. His last battle was with colon cancer.

Marc was born at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne on October 26, 1971. He attended Bain Elementary, Johnson Jr. High, and graduated from East High in 1990. He married Cathy DeCarlo on April 30, 1994.

Marc was a skilled home builder and developer, the owner of Horizon Homes. He loved the creativity and design process that went into his work. He especially enjoyed building spec homes. Marc was also a realtor at RE/Max Capitol Properties. He was an active member of the community, serving for many years on the Planning Commission.

Although he suffered from a traumatic brain injury in November, 2018, Marc still greatly enjoyed bowhunting, camping, fishing, shooting, reloading, and time with his friends and family most of all. Marc loved traveling with his family, especially on cruises, and camping trips to the Snowies. He also enjoyed fishing excursions with close friends.

Marc was dearly loved by his family and is survived by his wife, Cathy Woods, and his four children: Jordann Hoff (Sean Muth), Minneapolis, MN, Ashley (Tyler) Weber, Bloomington, MN, Jake Woods, Cheyenne, WY, and Emily (James) Kays, MN. He was so proud of his 7 grandchildren. Marc is also survived by his parents, Jim and Edna Woods. As well as his siblings: Jim (Leah) Woods, Kristen (Jeff) Spiker, Jeff (Jennifer) Woods, Josh (Lindsey) Woods, and 17 nieces and nephews, whom he loved. Also, his brothers-in-law: Michael (Sonia) DeCarlo and Kaleb (Katie) Kenneaster and sister-in-law, Denise (David) Hondel. As well as his father-in-law, Mike (Barbara) DeCarlo.

Marc’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Event Center on Thursday, June 12th from 5:30-8pm.
