Leland (Larry) Brooks Palmer, age 88, of Cheyenne, WY, passed away on September 27, 2025, at the VA Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 4, 1937, in Hillsdale, Wyoming, to Athes Brooks and Lulu Bell Palmer.
Leland was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He retired after many years in the workforce, working for Texas Trail Market, Guarantee National Insurance, Safeway, Albertsons, and Keebler, among others.
He enjoyed bowling, playing cribbage and other card games, going to the casinos on occasion, playing bingo, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
In high school, he ran cross country and set a state record in 1956 in Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Ann; his parents, Athes and Lulu Palmer; brother, Jerry Palmer; and sisters, Eula Gibbs and Opal Bates.
He is survived by two brothers, Richard and George (Fern); five sisters, Marjie, Dorothy, Debbie (Cecil), Lori, and Claudia (Doug); three sons, Mike, Todd (Stacy), and Curt (Glynda); seven grandchildren, Brennen (Madi), Preston, Shyla, Celeste (Chris), Crystal, Shaun, and Deonna; ten great-grandchildren, Fabian, Amethyst, Chrystyna, Gabriella, Dysennya, Zakariyah, Choryssma, Leroy, Michael, and Aubrey; and one great-great-grandchild, Journee. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens, 4701 Christensen Rd, Cheyenne, WY 82009. Reception details to be announced later.
