Korrine L. Bailey

Korrine L. Bailey, 95, of Cheyenne, WY passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Primrose Retirement Center. 

Korrine, the daughter of Walter and Iva Landen, was born on December 21, 1929 on a farm near St Edward, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She attended rural county elementary schools and graduated from Newman Grove High School. 

After high school, Korrine moved to Lincoln, where she met her future husband, Jack D. Bailey, while employed at his photography studio. They were married on July 4th, 1948 in Omaha, NE. Korrine and Jack lived in Lincoln until 1959, when they moved to Elgin, IL and lived until 1991. In Elgin, Korrine worked at Joseph Spiess Company as a sales associate for over 35 years. She also enjoyed doing cross stitch and was an excellent “stitcher.” Her family treasures all her beautiful creations. Also an avid gardener, Korrine looked forward to planting her flower boxes each spring. She definitely had a green thumb. Korrine’s family was her greatest joy. They all loved visiting Denver and spending time with Korrine and Jack.

Korrine is survived by: her three children, Cheri Hulke of Young Harris, GA, Pat Bailey of Westcliffe, CO, Michael (Deb) Bailey of Cheyenne, WY; 7 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth (Bob) Hartford of Mineola, IA; sister-in-law, Nancy (Leland) Landen of Newman Grove, NE; along with many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. 

Korrine was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Iva Landen; her husband, Jack Bailey; her sisters: Colleen Landen, Patricia (Bud) Goad, Marion Landen; brothers: Jack (Gretchen) Landen, Robert (Dorothy) Landen, and Leland (Nancy) Landen; niece, Kim (Lonnie)Smith; nephew, Griffin (Mickie) Goad; niece-in-law, JoLynn Goad; nephew-in-law, Jerry Seier.

 You will be missed greatly by your family and your friends, but we know you are in heaven dancing with Jack/Dad!
