John Jay Boehner, 73, died May 14, 2025, in Cheyenne WY after a 16-year battle with heart disease.

John was born January 22, 1952, in Orange NJ to John C Boehner and Gladys (Mooney) Boehner. He grew up in Little Falls, NJ, graduating from Passaic Valley High School in 1970.

John and his family moved to Littleton, CO in 1974. In 1977 he was hired by Union Pacific as a brakeman. Over the years he was promoted to conductor, and in 1998, to engineer. He continued to work as an engineer until his retirement.

John was an avid Classic Chevy guy. He proudly maintained the 1961 Impala that belonged to his father. He restored a 1960 Impala and a 1958 Impala. He earned an associate’s degree in Diesel Mechanics from Laramie County Community College.

John loved to travel. Growing up, he and his family traveled throughout the USA. He began traveling to Europe after his high school graduation, focusing on Germany, Switzerland and England.

He is survived by his wife Karen (Smith) who he married October 27, 1989, in Berlin, Germany. His brother Roger Boehner of Thornton, CO. Cousins Christopher Melia, Nancy Sherr (New Jersey) and Linda Miron (Arizona). Nephew Bobby Fink (Florida) and Nieces Patty Fink, Karen Fink and Leigh Anne Fink (Texas). And numerous friends throughout the world.
