Jodie Anne Wilt

Jodie Wilt was born Jodie Anne Sconiers on February 17, 1981 in Newcastle Wyoming to Ed and Judy Sconiers. When Jodie was three years old, she moved with her family to Cheyenne Wyoming. Jodie would spend the rest of her life in Cheyenne attending elementary, junior high and graduating from East High school in 1999. After graduation Jodie attended Laramie County Community College where she earned her associates degree in elementary education. Jodie pursued further education at the University Of Wyoming in Laramie. In November 2002 Jodie met the love of her life Larry Wilt. They eventually moved back to Cheyenne and were married on June 10, 2006 at the Botanical Gardens in Cheyenne. Jodie had a few jobs through the years, she finally found her true calling, working as a daycare teacher, mostly with ages six months to three years.

Jodie worked in childcare at several facilities throughout her career, including Appleseed Academy, Foundations Learning Center and Alphabet Academy. Jodie touched many lives, sharing her joy, laughter, knowledge and love with each child put in her care. Unfortunately, healthcare issues made it difficult for her to continue in that career field in 2025.

In April of 2014 Jodie made her profession of faith and was baptized, joining the membership of Faith Baptist Church. One of Jodie’s greatest joys was working with children at the church and working for years as a counselor at Black Hills Baptist Bible camp. While Jodie and Larry were never blessed with children of their own, they considered the children they taught at the church as well as their several nieces and nephews to be their own.

Jodie was proceeded in death by her parents Ed and Judy, her four grandparents, beloved Uncle Rich, and other extended family members. She is survived by her husband of twenty years, Larry Wilt, her sister Barbara Boyce, and her brother Nicholas Sconiers. She also leaves five nieces and nephews, and four great nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family members. She also leaves her beloved brothers and sisters at Faith Baptist Church that were a great joy to her heart.
