Jim Charles Watters passed away on October 15, 2025, in a motorcycle accident. Jim was born to Lloyd and Dorothy Watters on February 5, 1956, in Brainerd, Minnesota. He grew up in Minnesota, living in several towns as his dad was a game warden. He loved his childhood, getting to experience raising orphaned wild animals of all kinds. He moved with his parents to Cody, Wyoming in 1972 when his father retired, graduating from Cody High School in 1974. He was married to Denise Camposan on November 23, 1974, and they had 4 children. They divorced in 2003.
He joined the army in June of 1974 and served in the 501st S&T Battalion in Colorado Springs and Nuremburg Germany. His first child was born in Germany. He left the Army in 1977 and lived in Colorado Springs, CO, Powell, WY, Hanna, WY and Glenrock, WY before moving to Cheyenne. He loved motorcycles, camping, building computers and fixing computers. He was a skilled mechanic and jack of all trades.
He is survived by his partner of almost 4 years, Michelle Mitchell, Children Heather Gearhart of Pennsylvania, Anthony (JoAnn) Watters of Casper, WY, Shaunna (Jasen) Pedersen of Somersville, Tennessee and Shari (Chad Proctor) Watters. Grandchildren Vic Street, Hunter Street, Taryn Watters, Christopher Watters, Gabriel Watters and Caydence Watters, Sisters Mary Marquart and Jo Ann Watters,
He worked at Cheyenne Veterans Hospital for several years starting as general maintenance and moving up to electrician. He earned the respect of all departments through his kindness and willingness to always lend a helping hand.
