Jerome Ernest Schinzel, a devoted husband, father, and member of the community, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Greeley, Colorado. He was born on August 12, 1932, in Kearney, Nebraska, and touched the lives of many throughout his journey.

Jerome dedicated his life to farming, a pursuit that reflected his strong work ethic and deep connection to the land. He graduated from high school in Lexington, Nebraska, in the class of 1950, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to both family and community.

A proud member of the Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus, Jerome embodied the spirit of service to others. His passion for snowmobiling and fishing served as a testament to his love for the outdoors and adventure. Jerome will be fondly remembered for his deep faith in the Lord and his exceptional communication skills, which forged connections with those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lucille Schinzel; his children, Kevin (Vicky) Schinzel and Anna Marie (Kerry) Hall; his stepchildren, Donna Yates (Dennis), Norman Rasco and Phillip Rasco (Dawn), his siblings, Mary Ann Wilkinson, Don Schinzel, Luanne Schinzel, and Leonard Schinzel; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rena Schinzel, and siblings, Katherine Hafeman, Bernard Schinzel, and Betty Jean Dilsaver.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at VA Hospice, Westlake Lodge, and Bristol Hospice for their compassionate care during this time.

Honorary pallbearers include Devin Schinzel, Jared Schinzel, Colton Schinzel, Tim Van Raay, Mike Wiegard, and Doug Hafeman. Jerome's legacy of kindness, faith, and community service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Knights of Columbus.
