Listen to Obituary

Jeffrey R. Hickman, age 71, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at the Davis Hospice Center after a valiant and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Jeff was born on December 8, 1954, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended the University of Wyoming for two years before answering a call to serve his country. In 1975, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a field medical technician, a role that reflected both his discipline and his compassion for others.

Jeff lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he built a life rooted in community and creativity. Music was the defining passion of his life. He lived and breathed music, and his deep dedication to the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra was a testament to that love. Through his involvement, Jeff helped enrich the cultural fabric of his community and shared his passion generously with others.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Warren Hickman; his mother, Barbara Hickman; and his brothers, Scott Hickman and Dave Hickman.

He is survived by his sister, Jean Hughley, and his niece, Whitney Harmon, along with many friends and fellow music lovers who will miss him deeply. Jeff will be remembered for his devotion to music, his service to his country, and the quiet impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.

A Memorial Service will be Thursday, January 29th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
