Jeffery Scott Campbell

Jeffery Scott Campbell, 67, passed away on September 15, 2026. Born on July 26, 1959, Jeff lived a life marked by love for his family, a strong work ethic, and an enduring sense of humor that stayed with him throughout the years.

Jeff was known as an ornery, loving, funny, and reliable man whose presence brought strength and warmth to those around him. Cheryl lovingly called him her “teddy bear in a grizzly bear suit,” a description that captured both his tough exterior and his deeply caring heart. To his grandchildren, he was simply “Papa,” a name that reflected the special place he held in their lives. His proudest accomplishments were his family, his Wyo Tech education, and his military service.

He served in the Army in Admin Supply, and that service remained an important part of the life he built. After earning his GED, Jeff went on to attend Wyo Tech to become a diesel mechanic, an achievement that spoke to his determination and practical skill. He most recently worked as a truck driver, continuing a career defined by dedication and dependability.

Outside of work, Jeff found joy in the things he loved most. He enjoyed racecars and time at the Country Speedway, and he was a lifetime member of the WARC Wyoming Auto Racing Club. He also loved motorcycles and treasured time spent camping, fishing, and hunting. Among the memories his family will hold especially close is a recent camping trip, when Jeff and the grandkids were playing “Wack and raccoon” as raccoons kept coming up to the tent while the family was settling down for the night. It was a moment full of laughter and togetherness, the kind of memory that now carries even greater meaning.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Cheryl Campbell; his father and mother, Richard and Loraine Campbell; his children, Melissa Capozzoli and Aaron Welton; and his bonus children, Kasandra Lopez, Shannon Parsons, Desiree Mansfield, and Michael Layhue. He is also survived by his brother, Tommy Thomas. The family he loved so deeply remained the center of his life, and he took great pride in each of them.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Robyn Baesler; his brother, Craig Campbell; his sister, Dawn Thomas; and his brother-in-law, Mark Mansfield.

Jeff’s final moments were held in love, as he took his last breaths in his father’s arms. That profound closeness speaks to the deep bonds of family that shaped his life from beginning to end.

Jeffery Scott Campbell will be remembered for his humor, his steadfast nature, his love of racing and the outdoors, and above all for the devotion he gave to his family. His memory will live on in the stories shared around campfires, at family gatherings, and in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
