Her love of cooking and baking inspired her to own and operate Smiley’s Café, first on Pershing Boulevard and later on Logan Avenue. She also provided steadfast support to her daughter Mary in the operation of Mary’s Bake Shoppe—two beloved Cheyenne establishments that nourished not only bodies but also the community’s spirit.
A devout member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Jeanette was the embodiment of Catholic faith in action. Her life was marked by service, compassion, and unwavering belief.
She is survived by her children Theodore Coonts Jr., Thomas (Barbara) Coonts, John (Leiha) Coonts, Charles Coonts (Pam Bartnik); grandchildren, Amanda (Bryan) Rogowski, Jason (Katie), Christopher (Kathryn), Johnny (Melissa), Jayme Martinez, Corey Shinn and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Theodore Wayne Coonts Sr., daughters Jeanne Marie Coonts and Mary Hanson, daughter-in-law Kathryn Coonts, her parents, Stella and George and five brothers and five sisters. May they all be reunited in peace and everlasting love.
