James Lee Wade, 83, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on March 5, 2026. Jim was born to Woody and Esther Wade of Cheyenne. At the age of 6 Jim moved to San Bruno, CA, where he learned to surf and lifeguard.
Disillusioned with college, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. While stationed in San Diego, the young Marine met Cecelia and was soon married in 1963. After a deployment to South Vietnam, they raised their family in San Jose, CA, and Longmont, CO, where Jim worked 35 years as an IBM Computer Programmer. They later moved to Berthoud, CO, Loveland, CO, Dubois, WY, and finally settled in Cheyenne.
Jim’s favorite hobby was planning and building a new house every few years. He taught his two sons the value of carpentry and auto-repair. His passion for Jesus led him in 2004 to work as a Police Chaplain in Loveland, CO, for 5 years and became ordained along the way. He was known as Reverend at Valley Assembly Loveland, and Pastor at New Creation Fellowship in Dubois for 6 years, following as Pastor for the Senior’s group at Destiny Church Cheyenne.
Jim is survived by two sons Joseph (Robi) Wade and Martin (Maria Delgado) Wade; granddaughters Madison and Lindsey; and great granddaughter Mariel.
