With deep sadness, we announce the passing of James "Jimmy" Michael Hagar, a United States Air Force Veteran. Born February 6, 1952 in Colorado Springs, Colorado Jim was a devoted father, grandfather and friend who passed away on September 28, 2026 at the age of 74.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Frankin Ray Hagar in March of 1973, mother Maxine Lila [Hammack] Hagar in February of 1998, oldest sister Sharon Von Gunten in September of 2019 and younger sister Nancy Tucker in November of 2011.
Jim is survived by his wife Teresa Annette [Myers] Hagar, his 2 children, son Timothy(Christine) Hagar and daughter Christina(Eddie) Maes, 5 grandchildren Danielle Hagar, Taylorae(Chris) Zamora, Bradley Hammond, Kayla(Spencer) Jacobs and Samantha Hagar, his 5 great grandchildren Israel Hair, Cyrus Hair, Annabella Garner, Anastasia Garner and Adonis Zamora along with his younger sisters Donna(John) Jensen of Nebraska and Connie(Dave) Laue of Oregon. Jim was the only boy and 2nd oldest of 5 children.
He moved to Woodburn Oregon at a young age and lived there until he graduated high school in 1970. Jim and Teresa, who met at church, were married in Woodburn Oregon on August 14, 1970. On March 19, 1971 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Illinois and then Montana until being relocated in 1981 to Cheyenne Wyoming until he retired in 1991, spending 20 years as Missile Maintenance with a 1year tour of duty in Brussels Belgium. After retiring, he lived in Oregon and Montana until he returned to Cheyenne in 1997 for the remainder of his life.
Jim enjoyed hunting, collecting guns, reloading, going to gun shows, going to the shooting range and being a part of the Cheyenne Rifle and Pistol Club. Jim had many titles in his life but Grandpa was his #1 favorite title. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were extra special to him and he showed his love by being a part of their lives and enjoyed watching them grow whether it was sharing his hobbies such as taking them to the shooting range to teach them his favorite thing or watching their sporting events or being a part of their favorite things and important moments in their life. The last 20 years of his life he suffered from Parkinson's Disease which put a limit on things he could do but he took life as it came, never worrying about how things could have been different. He will be dearly missed by many.
