We have all lost James — a father, a son, a brother, a soulmate, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, a friend.

He was a man whose heart overflowed with love, devotion, and passion for the people and things he cared about. James lived for his family and gave everything he had to those he loved. In his 42 years, 11 months, and 20 days, he lived with full force.

James had a big personality, an even bigger heart, and was one of the most loving souls to ever walk this earth.

He was a devoted father — his four children were his entire world. He loved them more than he loved himself. The thought of not being there to watch them grow, to guide them, and to love them every step of the way broke his heart and soul. If you asked him what his greatest accomplishment was, he would answer without hesitation: his children!

James always had his little EC girl dressed like a princess and lovingly braided her hair. He was constantly beaming with pride over her accomplishments, cheering her on every step of the way.

He cherished the time spent working on Bryson's car, bonding over tools, grease, and shared determination.

James’s creativity shone through in countless ways — including when he hand-sewed his twins’ very first Halloween costumes: Fred and Wilma. It was just one of many moments that showed his dedication, imagination, and love as a father.

As James and EllaMae entered school and sports, he stood proudly at their side, marveling at the beautiful ways their spirits unfolded. Each milestone was a gift he treasured, and he found his greatest joy in nurturing them toward the people they were meant to become.

James shone bright when he and Danniell worked side by side, sharing in one of their many projects and adventures, each moment filled with love, laughter, and partnership

He and his sister shared a deep bond, filled with love and playful rivalry, especially whenever New York and Denver faced off on the football field.

He was truly a Mommy’s boy, calling her most days just to see how she was doing or to plan the next family celebration. His flair for party planning was over the top, yet always captured the joy of every moment.

James may not have spoken to you often, or only when chance brought you together, but he never stopped sharing his thoughts and caring in his own unique way.

He found joy and adrenaline in his younger days riding motocross, and later as an adult riding motorcycles — the thrill of the ride matched the fire in his spirit. He loved music of all genres, with the Grateful Dead being one of his favorites. He was also a proud New York Giants fan, loyal through every high and low. And he carried a deep pride for his Wyoming roots, always wearing the Brown and Gold with honor.

Talented with his hands, James thrived as a barber — a profession he was born for. His creativity knew no bounds. He had an eye for design, and his home always looked like a showplace. He could fix anything with skill and ingenuity, often repurposing items in clever ways. Whether thrifting, flipping treasures, or tackling projects with his signature hustle mindset, James had a true gift for making something out of nothing.

You could always find James surrounded by friends and family — talking, laughing, and living fully in the moment. He never met a stranger. He loved listening to people’s stories, often calling them his “old timer stories.” His smile could light up any room, and his laugh was unforgettable — full of life, often following some hilarious shenanigan that left everyone grinning.

James didn’t just live — he loved. Deeply, fiercely, and without reservation. He gave to others even when he had little to spare. Known for his generosity, he gave freely of his time and talents — volunteering with We Got Your Back, Sons of Light Biker Ministry, Kids Deserve Dads, Toys for Tots, Safehouse, ABATE, Habitat for Humanity, and local food banks, and offering free haircuts to those in need. Always helping, always asking if anyone needed anything. He touched countless lives, always showing up when it mattered most.

His presence filled every space, his absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled.

We will remember James for who he was — a man of grit, creativity, and unstoppable love.—A devoted father.—A true friend.—A light to many.

May your spirit soar, James, forever free and loved. Your love lives on in all those you touched. You are deeply missed — and you always will be.
