Jacqueline Romena Price

Jacquelyn (Smith) Price peacefully passed from this life to the next on September 1, 2026, at home with her family in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was 95 years old. Jackie was born in Knobel, Arkansas, to John and Elsie Smith on August 2, 1931. After her family moved to Centerville, Missouri, she met the love of her life, Arlon (Al) Price as he got off the school bus his first day at Centerville High School when she was 16 years old. They became high school sweethearts and married three years later in September 1950. They set up housekeeping in St. Louis, Missouri, and added daughter, Hope, to their little family. Their family life was interrupted while Al served in the Korean War. Jackie spent that year caring for their infant daughter and keeping track of where his letters said he was in Korea with pins she put in the large map of Korea she kept on her wall. They resumed their family life when he returned and settled down once again in St. Louis, adding to their family two sons, Jim and Alan. Her devotion to her family and care of them never failed. Their love and loyalty to each other never faded. She and Al raised their three children, took full advantage of their many years of retirement, and enjoyed 68 years of marriage until his death in March of 2018.

Jackie enjoyed her life to the fullest until the very end. She recognized the blessings she had been given in every situation and was grateful for each one. She was a true people person, made friends easily, and loved to talk and laugh. Her infamous sense of humor could pop up at any time. She loved to travel and see and experience new places. For her, every trip was the best trip ever; every vacation was the best vacation ever; every family visit was the best visit ever. She was an enthusiastic, energetic woman who rarely said no to any invitation to do something or go somewhere. Although her body grew old, her lively, happy spirit never did.

She will be greatly missed by her three children, Hope Peckham (Kelly), Jim Price, and Alan Price (Heather), grandchildren Mike Davis (Katherine), James P. Davis, Aiden Price and Abel Price, and two great-grandchildren Mairwen Davis and James W. Davis.

A celebration of life memorial service will take place on September 25 at 11:00 a.m. at her church home of many, many years -- Arlington United Methodist Church in Bridgeton, Missouri.
