Jacqueline “Jackie” Pauli passed peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 74. She was born on December 6, 1951, in Seattle, Washington. At the age of 15, Jackie moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she met the love of her life, Dan. They were married on December 16, 1967, and shared 54 years together until Dan’s passing in 2022.
Four children were born of their marriage: Hope, who tragically passed away in 1970; Jessica, born in 1974; Daniel, born in 1978; and Amy, born in 1981.
To know Jackie was to know love. She was patient, kind, and endlessly generous, spending her life quietly supporting those she loved and always putting others before herself. Jackie supported Dan through his undergraduate studies and law school, while raising their family and standing beside him throughout his career.
When her youngest child entered kindergarten, Jackie returned to school to pursue her own passion—education. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1992 with a degree in early childhood special education, earning a 4.0 GPA. Jackie worked as an early childhood special education teacher before opening Building Blocks Child Care Center, a place of warmth and care that served hundreds of children in Cheyenne over the course of 25 years. She continued this work until her health no longer allowed her to remain open.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Elaine and Elliott Buxton; her daughter, Hope; her beloved husband, Dan; and two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her children, Jessica (Darin) Padilla, Daniel (Jaclyn) Pauli, and Amy (Aaron Cave) Pauli. Most of all, she is survived by the lights of her life—her grandchildren: Kendall, Adam, Ella, Elyse, Michael, and Allison. She is also survived by three brothers, two sisters, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends who, over the years, became family.
A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Davis Hospice Center.
