Irma Jean Ryan, 98, passed away in her sleep at Davis Hospice in Cheyenne, WY. She was born on June 3, 1926, in Warsaw, Illinois to Ben and Irma Stracke Elble. Irma attended St. Louis University where she attained an associate’s degree in business administration. Irma was working for Ameren Union Electric when she met the Love of her Life and was married at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton, IL on December 26, 1955. Irma’s hobbies included bridge, knitting, and playing the piano. She LOVED to sing and ESPECIALLY loved Karen Carpenter's music.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband Thomas G. Ryan; her parents; sister Mary Ann Beiser; and brother John Elble.
She is survived by her sons Michael (Vicky), Thomas (Mary), Kevin (Christine), James (Ginny), Steve (Julie), Terry (Julie); grandchildren Malinda (Jesse) Johnston, Stephanie Gangstad, Nick (Sydney), Chris (Nancy), Lindsay (Zack) Murdock, Patrick, Thomas (Jenna), James (Lase), Nathan Nordin, Jennifer (Michael) Sano, Steve Martin, Alex, Shannon and Ben Brandt, Justin and Shane Parsons; great grandchildren John Nerone, Lyla Jean, Danielle, Lilly, Mathew, Amos and Maya Jean Ryan, Mason Murdock, Emma Jean, and Anthony Sano; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews all of whom she held close to her heart.
Irma will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her. Her warm and loving spirit, dedication to family, and joyful personality will forever remain in our hearts.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday.
