Gordon Mattis was born February 18th 1945 in Wagner South Dakota to Jack and Bessie Mattis and went to heaven to be with his Lord on Dec 19th 2025. He graduated from Wagner High School in 1963.
Gordon is a Vietnam veteran and has received a Purple Heart after serving 2 tours there. He later moved to Cheyenne Wyoming to settle down, retiring from the 90th Civil Engineering as a contractor.
Gordon is survived by his Daughter Desirae (Robert) of Cheyenne daughter Jacki Koski (Andy) of California and good friend Theresa Dockery of Cheyenne. Sisters Helen Beaman and Joan Van Aspern and brother Dick Buss. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as his beloved grandchildren Austin, Payden, Ellie, Ryder, Wyatt and Evelyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Bessie Mattis and his brothers Jack Mattis and Gary Mattis. Brother in laws James Beaman and Don Van Aspern. His daughter Jodi Anderson and Grandson Isaiah Osbourn.
A Graveside Service will be Tuesday, January 27, at 10:00 a.m., which will take place at Cheyenne National Cemetery, along with military honors.
