Glen Richard Evans

Glen Richard Evans, born December 5, 1944, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a valiant fight with respiratory failure on July 17, 2026.

He was born in Florence, South Carolina, to Ernie Monroe Evans and Darlene Elizabeth Teichert. He graduated from Warner Robins High School in Warner Robins, Georgia in 1964. He went on to attend the University of Wyoming and proudly served in the United States Air Force.

In 1969, Glen moved to Utah, where he began his career with Key Bank. This opportunity led him into a long and successful career with Systematics, Inc., which took him across the country, including Utah, Arkansas, Washington, Idaho, Virginia, Texas, California, and New York. Following the death of his beloved Uncle Muggs in 1991, Glen returned home to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he remained.

Glen was a devoted father and family man who took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children. Taffie (Volker) Evans Schmidt, Sandi (Mike) Nicotera, and Dustin (Jo) Evans. Through his marriage to Janice Herzog, he welcomed two additional sons into his life, Scott Thomas and Sean Thomas, whom he loved as his own.

Glen married Wynne Ipsen on January 13, 1970; they later divorced. He found love again and married Janice Herzog on July 2, 1997, with whom he shared 29 meaningful years.

He is survived by his mother, whom he dutifully cared for until his illness; his wife; his siblings, Dianne Knoble and Paul (Diane) Evans, and his brother-in-law Don (Peggy) Herzog; his children; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his cousins, who were like siblings to him; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, his step-son Scott Thomas, several cousins, and a few close friends.

A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes, on August 11, 2026, at 10:30 AM (1900 East 19th St. Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001). He will be laid to rest at the Cheyene National Military Cemetery at 12:00.

He will be remembered for his strength, resilience, and deep love for his family. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family.
