Gina Lee Merrill, age 52, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on March 5, 2026. Born on July 23, 1973, in Denver, Colorado, Gina grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and remained deeply connected to the community she called home throughout her life.
Gina is survived by her husband, Chauncy Merrill, whom she married on May 4, 2013; her two beloved sons, Todd and Casey; her sister, Tania Riedel; two nieces, three nephews, and one great-nephew. For Gina, family was the most important thing in life. She spent much of her time thinking of ways to bring everyone together through smiles and laughter. Gina was incredibly proud of her husband and his success in professional roping, and equally proud of both of her sons and what they each have accomplished.
She took great joy in her job as a school bus driver and treated all of the children she drove as if they were her own. She also loved helping people feel beautiful as a cosmetologist. Gina had a special gift for bringing light into the life of every person she interacted with. She had a laugh that was contagious and you knew it was so very authentically her. Mostly, Gina found happiness in life’s simple moments—working in her garden and spending time with her dogs. She loved snuggling with her Great Danes Harley & Griffin, and her new addition a little Pomeranian named Boomer. Her dogs always reflected her personality; sassy, stubborn, and silly.
Those who knew Gina will remember her for her kindness, her bright smile, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for. After years of battling illness, her family is incredibly proud of the strength, courage, and resilience she showed despite it all. They take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is now hand in hand with her mother, Carolyn, and with our Lord in Heaven.
A celebration of life will be held at the East Lincolnway Event Hall March 21st at 3:00 P.M.
