Evonne Marie Strohman

Evonne Marie Strohman was born in Casper, Wyoming, on March 18, 1951, to Orville Miller and Shirley Combs. She spent her early years in Casper and Thermopolis, Wyoming, with a brief time living in Spokane, Washington. She always spoke fondly of Thermopolis, where she graduated from high school in 1969.

During her school years, Evonne excelled in Home Economics, spent many recesses playing tetherball, and thoroughly enjoyed the Hot Springs and swimming pools of Thermopolis year-round. Although she despised snakes, her family created many lasting memories and shared laughter through both real and pretend snake encounters. Evonne also had a lifelong love for dogs, from childhood through adulthood.

Evonne spent her life rooted in the values of family, friendship, and community. She chose to stay home while raising her children and sold Avon so she would never miss a sporting event, music performance, or academic activity. As their biggest supporter and cheerleader, she was always present for the moments that mattered most.

After her children left home, Evonne moved to Longmont, Colorado, where she worked in various positions, including as a bus driver for RTD. In 2007, she moved to Oklahoma City to help care for her twin grandsons. She returned to Wyoming in 2010 and worked as a City Bus driver until retiring in 2018.

As a young teenager, Evonne's family found a church home, and she continued throughout her life to follow God's word. She raised her family as faithful members of the Church of Christ. Wherever she made her home, she was known for her kindness, warm spirit, and genuine care for those around her.

She is survived by her son, Robert Wayne Strohman Jr.; his wife, Shelly; and their two amazing sons, Noah and Ryder, of Wichita Falls, Texas, of whom Evonne was immensely proud. She is also survived by her daughter, Sherri Strohman-Miller, and her husband, Scott Miller, of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Additional survivors include her younger siblings: brother David (Christina) Clayton of Mansfield, Texas; sister Nancy (Randy) Russell of Centennial, Colorado; and sister Paula (Mark) Juneau of Arvada, Colorado. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Leah, Clay, Aly, and Quentin, and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaley, Sarah, Dylan, Devin, Quinlyn, Remy, Cal, Eiley, Owen, Holden, and Grayson.

Evonne was preceded in death by her father, Orville Miller; her stepfather, Ralph Clayton; and her mother, Shirley Combs Hendrick.

Evonne will be remembered for the love she shared with family and friends, her generous spirit, and the many cherished memories she created throughout her life. Her presence brought comfort, joy, and encouragement to all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
