Donald Tibbets Jr took his last breath on this earthly journey into the arms of his eternal maker on February 8, 2026. He has joined many family members and friends in this eternal life he looked forward to so much.
He was born in Casper Wyoming on June 5, 1959 to Donald and Ruth Ann Tibbets. This date was of important significance as it was his parents 1 year wedding anniversary. He moved to Cheyenne, WY a year later. He graduated from East High School and received a RN degree at Laramie County Community College. He worked in hospitals in Cheyenne, Wheatland, WY, Sheridan, WY and lastly- in Salt Lake City, Utah at Utah University Hospital for many years. He moved back to Cheyenne and worked 20+ years for Big D until retirement.
He married Mary Helen Spencer until her death. Don then married Beth Hettinger and have been together for 16 years.
Don lived life to it’s fullest. He loved going camping and fishing, writing songs and playing them on his guitar. He cheered for the Wyoming Cowboys football, Broncos and the Buffalo Bills. He loved taking care of his many animal friends which were dogs, cats, turtles, ducks and chickens. He attended North Cheyenne Baptist church. He ran the Truckers Christian Chapel in Salt Lake and in Cheyenne every Sunday and had many sermons and fellowships to encourage our truckers. He led many people to Jesus Christ. He was very proud doing God’s work for Gods glory. He was a great jokester playing pranks and just making people laugh if they were having a bad day. He made many friends with truckers. Don will be missed by these hard working people.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, adopted daughter Crystal and Annette Turner.
Don is survived by his wife Beth, sisters Sandy Hinners (Frank) Arizona, Joan Tibbets, Cheyenne and his brother Tim (Deb) from Utah. He has 3 nephews and 2 great nephews.
If you wish to donate in Don’s memory, Cheyenne Animal Shelter, Alzheimers and Dementia Association, American Cancer Society or organization of your choice.
Don encourages all of us to teach the lost and unsaved to learn and spread God’s word for the good of his people. Life will endure forevermore with the Love of God in your heart.
