Our beloved, Diana (“Di" or "Princess Diana") Martinez, born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 14, 1956, passed away peacefully on the 13th of May 2026. She entered her final journey just two months shy of what would have been her 70th birthday.
Di was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend, admired for her generosity and strength, and a confidant to many. She was a source of endless joy and laughter.
Di loved lively and joyful music like Motown and the oldies, music that makes you want to dance and have a good time! She was an excellent cook. Before entering her back door, the rich spices of a home-cooked meal filled the air. Di kept busy with a wide variety of arts and crafts. Always creating something fun for all holidays.
She adored her nieces and nephews and never missed a birthday, or the chance to give the infamous head slap to the newest little family members. Di was ahead of her time with fashion, always unique and chic, she had the most stylish hats and shoes. She kept everyone connected — often the first to organize family gatherings.
She is survived by her fur babies; Zapato and Yoda, her siblings; Theresa (Carlos), Carmel (Jerry), Esther (Stan), Catalina (Ron), Johnny, and David. Diana is survived by her faithful friend and caregiver, Mia. She is survived by a total of 29 beautiful nieces and nephews (including great and great-great), along with some amazing extended family. She was preceded in death by her loving parents; Lazaro T. Martinez and Anita H. Martinez of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
A celebration of Di’s life will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes, located in Cheyenne, WY on the 10th of July 2026 at 11am. Family and friends are encouraged to share stories that capture her humor and warmth.
Di’s love and presence will be forever woven into our family’s story.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Donor Alliance; http://www.donoralliance.org/contribute/ or to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
