Dell Rae Porter

Dell Rae “Jones” Porter, 93, passed away peacefully in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was born on March 18, 1933, to Floyd and Ruth Jones, in Orchard, Colorado, in the home where she was raised. The home was later moved to Cheyenne, where she completed her schooling.

Dell Rae graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1951. She worked for the Southside Water and Sewer District for 27 years. She later retired to care for her ailing husband, Bill Porter, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

Dell Rae is survived by her children: Sherry (Monte) Hughes, Gerry Porter, Sonny (Kathy) Porter, Polly (Sonny) Cross, and Jack (Kim) Porter; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, two children, Billie and Loy Dene, three grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, and two brothers-in-law.

A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 7, at 1:00 p.m. at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
