In Loving Memory of Delesta (Dee Dee) Lee White
December 2, 1946 – October 8, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and loving hearts that we announce the passing of Delesta Lee White, affectionately known as Dee Dee, who departed this life on October 8, 2026, at the age of 79. Dee Dee leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, service, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Early Life
Dee Dee was born on December 2, 1946, in Gates County, North Carolina, to Caleb and Arvilla Eason. As the second oldest of thirteen children, she embraced a special role in her family, providing guidance, encouragement, love, and emotional support to her siblings. Her nurturing spirit and devotion to family were evident from an early age and remained defining qualities throughout her life. Raised in Gates County, Dee Dee attended and graduated from Central High School.
Dee Dee also attended nursing school in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The values she developed during her early years—family, responsibility, compassion, and perseverance—would guide her throughout her life.
Family and Personal Life
On May 10, 1969, Dee Dee was united in marriage to Rudolph (Rudy) White. Together, they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and family, raising three children: two sons and one daughter.
Dee Dee was a devoted wife who faithfully supported Rudy throughout his service in the United States Air Force. Their military journey took them to Cheyenne, Wyoming; Italy; back to Cheyenne; and then to England, where they lived for six years. They later moved to March Air Force Base in Riverside, California. During Rudy’s one-year assignment in Alaska, Dee Dee remained at home with their children, providing the love, stability, and support that kept their family strong.
In 1991, the family returned to Cheyenne, where Rudy retired from military service in 1994. Through every relocation, transition, and season of life, Dee Dee remained a steadfast source of strength and encouragement for her husband and children. She helped create a home filled with love, resilience, and a deep sense of family. Dee Dee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her kindness, wisdom, generosity, and caring presence touched countless lives, and her love for those closest to her was evident in both her words and her actions.
Career and Accomplishments
Throughout her professional life, Dee Dee demonstrated dedication, dependability, and a strong work ethic. She began her career as a telephone operator and supervisor with Mountain Bell. While living in England, she continued working in telephone services.
After returning to Cheyenne, Dee Dee worked at F. E. Warren Air Force Base as a supervisor and secretary, serving in the Civil Engineering and Communications squadrons. She retired from F. E. Warren Air Force Base after 30 years of faithful and devoted service.
Her professional accomplishments reflected her commitment to excellence, but Dee Dee’s desire to serve others extended far beyond the workplace. For twenty years, Dee Dee and Rudy volunteered with Citizens on Patrol (C.O.P.), assisting the Cheyenne Police Department in its efforts to help keep the community safe. Their years of service demonstrated their shared commitment to protecting and supporting the people around them.
Dee Dee was also an active member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), where she served in several leadership capacities, including as a TOPS leader in Moreno Valley, California, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Through her leadership, encouragement, and willingness to help others, she became a valued member of the organization.
Her generous heart was especially evident in her many years of volunteering at Davis Hospice Center, where she served as a receptionist and cook. Whether welcoming visitors, assisting those in need, or preparing meals, Dee Dee offered her time and talents with warmth and compassion.
One of Dee Dee’s greatest gifts was her talent for cooking. She used this gift to bring people together, serve her community, and show love in a practical and memorable way. For many years, she helped organize the kitchen at Wyoming Bible Camp, coordinating volunteers to prepare and serve three meals a day for more than 100 campers. Her organizational skills, dedication, and love of cooking helped create a welcoming and memorable experience for countless campers and volunteers.
Her cooking was also treasured at weddings, funerals, potlucks, and the annual Cheyenne Police Department Christmas party. Whenever food, fellowship, and community brought people together, Dee Dee was often there—helping plan, organize, prepare, and serve. She understood that a meal could be much more than food; it could be an expression of love, comfort, hospitality, and belonging.
Through her cooking, Dee Dee made sure people felt welcomed, nourished, and cared for. Her kitchen ministry was one of the many ways she shared her heart with others. Outside of work and volunteering, Dee Dee enjoyed walking and participated in numerous walking and running fundraisers, including Race for the Cure, the MS Walk, and many others. One of her most memorable challenges was participating in the Bolder Boulder, where she walked 6.2 miles alongside friends, family, and more than 50,000 other participants.
Her enthusiasm for these activities reflected her determination, love of fellowship, and desire to support meaningful causes. Whether walking for a cause, serving a meal, or lending a helping hand, Dee Dee approached life with a spirit of participation, purpose, and generosity.
Awards and Recognition
In recognition of her dedication and service, Dee Dee received the following honors:
Performance Award – United States Air Force
Certificate of Appreciation – United States Air Force
30 Years of Distinguished Service – United States Air Force
These honors serve as a testament to her professionalism, commitment, and many years of faithful service.
Faith and Community
Dee Dee was a faithful member of the Cheyenne Church of Christ on Allan Road. Her faith in God was an important foundation of her life and was reflected in the way she loved her family, served her church, supported her community, and treated others with kindness and compassion.
She lived her faith through action, freely giving of her time, talents, and heart. Whether serving at church, helping a neighbor, preparing a meal, or encouraging a friend, Dee Dee demonstrated that love and service are among life’s greatest blessings. Her compassion extended beyond her immediate family and community. Through World Vision, Dee Dee sponsored a young girl in Mexico from the age of three until she was sixteen, helping provide support during an important part of the child’s life. This act of generosity reflected her belief in caring for others and making a difference, even across great distances.
Dee Dee’s faith was not simply something she professed; it was something she practiced daily. Through her generosity, service, and concern for others, she offered a living example of love in action.

May we find comfort in God’s strength, peace in His promises, and gratitude for the blessing of having shared our lives with Dee Dee. May the example she set inspire us to love more deeply, serve more willingly, and cherish the time we have with one another.
Her earthly journey has ended, but the love she planted in the hearts of others will continue to grow for generations to come.
